This year's Give A Day week is set for April 14-22, and is an official Kentucky Derby Festival event that kicks off the festival season. Give A Day week also leads into the 2018 Festival of Faiths, another volunteer-driven event

Other projects this year include:

The annual Walk of Compassion, a short, student-led walk through downtown on April 17 to celebrate our young people in grades 3-12 who have committed themselves to community service.

The Build A Bed project, which is a JCPS-AmeriCorps-sponsored effort to build beds for children who otherwise don't have one.

TreesLouisville, in partnership with the Louisville Metro Division of Community Forestry, is currently running a Tree Rebate Program as an incentive for homeowners to plant more trees.

The Tree Rebate Program is open to all residents of Jefferson County. Through the program, participants can earn a rebate of 40 percent (up to $80) on the purchase of a shade tree.  Cat Caretakers living in the following Jefferson County zip codes 40208, 40209, 40213, 40214, 40215, 40216, 40217, 40219, 40258 and 40272 are eligible  for spay/neuter services for unowned community cats,  They will be vaccinated, spayed/neutered, treated for flea and ear-mite medicine, given a great vet visit, ear-tipped (the universal symbol of a neutered cat) and returned.

When there are no more kittens; the number of cats gradually goes down  and annoying behaviors such as yowling, fighting, spraying stop.
