Wilbur C. Crick celebrates 100th birthday, served U.S. for 30 years
Family and friends of Mr. Wilbur C. Crick gathered Saturday at the Elks Lodge for a 100th birthday celebration.
Crick served in the Army Air Corps from 1936 to 1940, and reinlisted the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed. He served for 30 years all over the world, supported by his wife Linda, who passed away in 2010 after 62 years of marriage.
Councilman Mulvihill wanted to honor Crick for his military service but could not attend the party, so a proclamation was delivered, as well as a declaration from Mayor Greg Fischer's office proclaiming March 3 as Wilbur Crick Day.

While he earned numerous medals for his military service, Crick was quick to point out that his greatest accomplishment is his five children, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, several seen at the photo above.
Several in the Crick younger generations have followed his lead in serving in the United States Air Force.
