Louisville Metro Council Health and Education Committee invite the
community to attend one of three town hall meetings on the topic of legalizing
the use of marijuana for medical purposes. Each town hall meeting will be held in a different part of the
community, with the first town hall starting Monday, February 19 at 6:00pm.
Each town hall will start with presentations by panelists both in support and
opposition to a resolution calling for the legalization of medical marijuana
which is currently being considered by the Louisville Metro Council. Persons attending the town hall meeting will have the opportunity
to ask questions of panelists following opening remarks. Each town hall is
expected to last 60-90 minutes and comments received during each event will be
given to all members of the Louisville Metro Council. Town Hall Meeting Dates: Monday, February 19, 6:00PM – Lyndon City Hall (515

Community Dental Care Information Sessions

Community Dental Care is a full-sedental organization designed to increase
access to health care in communities with the goal of improving the overall
health of the population. Representatives will be on site to provide
information about services offered, to assist in scheduling appointments for

A Healthy Journey for Two Educational Baby Shower

A Healthy Journey for Two is an educational baby shower open to any expectant
mothers. The class will include a range of information and resources, as well
as free baby items, gift cards, prizes, and snacks. Hosted by Seven Counties

Work and Learn Program for K-TAP Recipients Info Session Thursday, February 22 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. 4255 Hazelwood Ave Individuals who are receiving K-TAP can come learn about campus and community resources for students, as well as work-study jobs. is accepting applications through March 30th or until available funds have
been expended, whichever comes first. This year’s Crisis Program features
expanded eligibility for past due amounts in addition to those that have
received a disconnect notice. Residents wishing to apply must make an
appointment utilizing the automated appointment system. Schedule

toll-free service is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Asset Building Coalition's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, and AARP
Tax Aide programs provide trained, IRS-certified volunteers to offer free tax
services at more than 20 sites across the city to individuals and families who
earned less than $64,000 in 2017. Appointments are recommended. For further

LWC crews are working Ash Avenue to
Beargrass Creek. The westbound lanes between this section are closed The eastbound lanes will operate as a two-lane roadway. Southbound
Goss Avenue's right turn/through lane to westbound Eastern Parkway will be
closed. Construction in this area will continue through the end of March.

The
Louisville Resilience team has a short web-based
survey to help craft the city’s strategy for withstanding “shocks and
stresses,” such as economic downturns and natural disasters. Louisville
Resilience will use the residents’ feedback as the office, in partnership
with the community, crafts policies and implementation strategies. The
