Friday - California Holiday Unity Celebration

Have a very merry Christmas indeed

The holidays are underway and, once again, Councilman David James will host a special seasonal event for residents of District 6 when the California Unity Holiday Celebration gets underway beginning at 6:00pm on Friday 8 December.

“It's always a joy to take the time to come together as a community and praise the true spirit of the season," says James. "A new year is on the horizon, and I am confident that good things lie ahead for one of Metro Louisville’s greatest neighborhoods.”

The fun begins in the festive atmosphere of California Leisure Park at 6:00pm. Santa Claus will be on hand to take the wishes and requests of children back to the North Pole.

The evening’s festivities will include live musical entertainment, free snacks, and refreshments will be available to all those who attend. There will be a bicycle giveaway and gifts from Santa.

“I want to invite everyone to come out and join this community celebration as a way to embrace the holiday season in a neighborhood that enjoys the togetherness this time of year brings,” says James.

This Sunday - Parkhill Holiday Party

Are you enjoying yourself? Are you merry? Is each and every cell of your body suffused with joy?

Councilman David James (D-6) and officers of the LMPD’s Fourth Division are planning a special celebration of the season when they host the Parkhill Holiday Party at Parkhill Community Centre on Sunday 10 December.

“This is the time of year when we hope to give children throughout our community a Merry Christmas with holiday fun for the family,” says James. “It will be a wonderful time for anyone who lives in the Parkhill area.”

There will be music, food and fun for all! Santa Claus will also be on hand to hear Christmas wishes and you can have your picture taken with the Jolly Old Elf. There will be a toys and bicycle give-away!

This year several groups and individuals have joined Councilman James to help spread holiday cheer for children and families in the District. Those sponsors include Kosair Charities, Kohl’s, Renaldo Design Jewelers, Henderson Services, Bruce Henderson, David Gross, Dr. & Mrs. Thomas and Nancy Woodcock, and Walmart.

“I want to encourage everyone in the Parkhill area to come out and join us for some fun as we bring in the holiday season,” says James.
