 Councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch was joined by Mayor Greg Fischer, KY State Rep. McKenzie Cantrell, CW Cindi Fowler and Artist Sabra Lynne Crockett for the official unveiling of the magnificent work of public art in District 13, the New Cut Road Mural, on Saturday October 7th.
 Also joining CW Welch were members of the task force in attendance; Don Thomas, McKenzie Cantrell, Richard Manion, Ilona Brown Manion, Sabra
Crockett, Stefanie Buzan and Steven William Elbe. These area residents and community partners reviewed all proposals and made the final selection of the artist whose design would be used.
 Artist
Sabra Lynne Crockett successfully brought the visual beauty of surrounding neighborhoods to a canvass that included landmarks of the history throughout the area. Among those represented are : Hickory Grove, the Fenley House, Jefferson Memorial

Iroquois Amphitheater, Pony & Buffalo Farm 3rd St Rd., Colonial Gardens and Iroquois Park

 The mural,was commissioned by CW Welch with additional funds provided by Louisville Forward. The
New Cut Road Mural is the latest project from Center For Neighborhood’s
Producing Art In Neighborhoods Together (P.A.I.N.T.) program. P.A.I.N.T. brings
neighborhoods and artists together to create public art projects for
neighborhoods throughout the Louisville Metro Area.

Mural!!

 The 2017 Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular Opens Thursday October 12 and runs nightly through – November 5 in Iroquois Park with 5,000 carved pumpkins lining a ¼-mile walking trail, illuminated at night as an “art show”.
Councilwoman Welch is pleased to be a sponsor for a voucher program for the Jack ‘O Lantern Spectacular that may be used for $5 off the regular ticket price to help support the event.
The
event is held nightly rain or shine. Gates open at 7:15 pm Iroquois Amphitheater 1080 Amphitheater Rd.
