ATV Vehicle Activity - Illegal on Public Roadways

With school out for the summer and the warm weather pushing everyone outside, LMPD tends to receive an increase in calls related to ATV activity. Many people are not aware that it is not legal to operate all-terrain vehicles on any public highway, roadway or right-of-way of any public highway or roadway. LMPD reminds constituents that it is against the law to use ATV's on a public roadway in Kentucky (KRS 189.515).

Changes in Pet Surrender Process Now in Effect

    d & C

As of May 1st, Louisville Metro Animal Services will accept the surrendering of pets by appointment only.  It is a proactive approach to saving animals’ lives. LMAS is not changing what it takes, just when.

Any animal determined by LMAS to be stray, sick, injured or aggressive will be accepted immediately, without an appointment.

Under the new process, owners wanting to surrender their pets will first fill-out and submit a Pet History Form and submit to the LMAS Animal Care Center (3705 Manslick Rd.) or online at www.louisvilleky.gov/animalservices

A staff member will contact the pet owner within two business days to set an appointment. Owners who surrender their pets will be charged a $25 impoundment fee to help cover the cost of care for their pet.

For more information call (502) 473-PETS, stop by the LMAS Animal House Adoption Center at 3516 Newburg Rd. or call (502) 473-PETS.   www.louisvilleky.gov/animalservices
