Council Members Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13) and Madonna Flood
(D-24) encourage pet owners to take advantage of a special event on
Saturday, June 10th that will offer one stop services for your pet.
“We have
put together an event where you can have your pet microchipped, licensed, or
vaccinated. It all is available in one location and at low cost,” says Welch.
“If you have been putting off updating your pet’s licenses and
vaccinations this would be a perfect time to get that done.”

“Family Farm and Forage Day” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will
explore historic and present-day farming with a variety of children’s
activities, workshops, talks and booths.
Families can enjoy a milking demonstration; a farm animal petting zoo;
horse-drawn wagon tours, barrel train rides as well as demonstrations on
beekeeping, raising chickens, cultivating beneficial garden insects, growing
fruit trees and more.
New this year to the festival – in its second year – is the Jefferson County
4-H Fair Open Youth Dairy Goat Show .

The Cultural Pass provides free access to many of Greater Louisville’s arts and cultural institutions for children of Metro Louisville. The Pass is valid for one-time general admission at each of the participating institutions and is valid from June 3 to August 12.
The 2017 Cultural Pass may be picked up at any Louisville Free Public Library branch along with the Summer Reading Program. Pass holders can register and track the progress of your Cultural Pass online at www.lfpl.org/culturalpass.

Getting
to jobs, the movies, recreational activities and fun events around Louisville
is affordable and easy for young people with the TARC Summer Youth Pass.
The pass costs $30 and is available to anyone 6-19 years
old. With the pass, youths can take unlimited TARC rides on all routes
from June 1-Aug. 31.
