Mayor Presents Fiscal Year 2018 Budget

All Blue Seal

The Metro Council received Mayor Greg Fischer’s FY18 Budget proposal at April 27, 2017 Meeting of the Metro Council. The Mayor used his speech as an opportunity to update the council on his capital and operating plans for the next fiscal year. The budget he presented was balanced and offered no new or additional taxes. The budget represents $603 million in General Fund dollars, which is an increase of 3.4% in revenues budgeted in the previous fiscal year.  $559 million was originally budgeted for the current year FY17.  The entire Metro budget contains expenditures of $839 million when you include State, Federal and Bonds/Notes expected. That represents a 2.1% increase from the previous.

I encourage you to continue following our progress by watching some of the hearings on Metro TV or by contacting me at 574-1107 or  email me at angela.leet@louisvilleky.gov to share your views and ideas.
