METRO NEWS

LMPD 7th Division Crime Alerts

lmpd

There has been a crime spike in the Charleswood neighborhood, particularly along Charleswood Road, Waycross and Brook Bend Way. Burglary and theft from auto is the problem. According to the reports, victims are leaving their garage doors open, vehicles unlocked and leaving keys in the vehicle.  People who live near the Charleswood area, particularly along Mud Lane and Antle,  be sure to take crime prevention steps. Closing garage doors, locking vehicles that are parked in the garage and removing anything of value out of cars would go a long way in reducing the opportunity for crime.

I also plan on having my DRO’s pass out crime prevention flyers in the near future. We also have a way to deliver crime bulletin reports and alerts to citizens via email and smart phone. They can sign on to the  link by Clicking Here

Copper Farms, Ashbrooke Gardens, Larkgrove, Washington Green, Lakeview Acres Subdivisions are also experiencing an increase in thefts from autos.  The notice below outlines some of the precautions you can take to prevent this from happening to YOU!!

Link to Metro Government & Your Neighborhood

nd

Louisville is now a Nextdoor city. You'll soon be able to find city information related to your specific neighborhood on the website at www.nextdoor.com or on the company's mobile application. It creates private social networks for conversations within neighborhoods that cannot be seen by other areas, and allows the city to direct information to those neighborhoods. Metro Police was the first city department to use the service to deliver targeted information. Public Works and other departments will soon follow. In the meantime, Louisville residents can register at Nextdoor to join the conversations that may already be going on among their neighbors.

PAINT DISPOSAL
While oil based paint or lead paint must be taken to HAZ BIN for disposal, water-based or latex paint is not a hazardous waste, and is not accepted at HAZ BIN. However, it cannot be included with household garbage in liquid form.

If there is only a small quantity of paint in the can, remove the lid and let stand in a well-ventilated area away from children or pets until dry. For larger quantities of paint, or to speed up the drying process, stir in an absorbent such as sand, kitty litter, sawdust, vermiculite, or shredded paper.

Containers with dried latex paint (without lids) can be placed in tightly sealed plastic bags and placed in garbage containers for pickup.
