Councilman Mulvihill attended a presentation of "The Boy who Cried Wolf" presented by Commonwealth Theatre Center at Camp Taylor Elementary School on Wednesday.
The Walden Theatre Conservatory and Blue Apple Outreach merged in 2015, and are now known as Commonwealth Theatre Center.

Some District 10 residents who put out junk for collection are seeing delays in having those items picked up. Please know that crews are working diligently to collect the junk but are behind schedule: A number of construction projects are causing a great deal of difficulty in getting around with the large equipment.
The Eastern Parkway water main replacement project is starting early. Beginning the week of October 24, crews will start digging construction pits on Eastern Parkway in front of the Medical Arts complex. The pit construction includes a lane closure one week earlier than planned: One westbound lane from Eastern Parkway and Beargrass Creek (near Poplar Level) to Barret will be closed for approximately five weeks.
Prep work will also include crews working on mains in side streets that tie into the
48-inch pipe along Eastern Parkway, installing new valves and digging
for construction pits. The tree removal will be done in stages with some tree
removal beginning this week.
Louisville
Water has worked hard to minimize the environmental impact of this project. In fact, of the hundreds of trees along this route we anticipate
removing no more than 25. These range from one-inch trees to a 30-inch
silver maple that is in the median near Eastern Parkway and Valley. Several of the trees are already distressed and are likely near the
end of their lives. After work begins, additional trees may be impacted but we won't know the final number until decisions on
construction pit locations are determined. Even under a worse-case
scenario, we are confident this project will impact less than 35
trees. Louisville
Water is working with Metro Parks on a replacement project for the trees.
We
continue to update customers on the impact of the project. Communications channels include emails,
Twitter updates, a dedicated web page at
LouisvilleWater.com/EasternPkwyProject showing construction and traffic, and frequent media updates.
Develop Louisville seeks input from young people on Louisville's Comprehensive Plan. This plan establishes a framework to guide public
and private decisions about future growth, preservation and changes within a
local government.
Louisville Metro adopted its current comprehensive plan,
known as Cornerstone 2020, on June 15, 2000. Cornerstone 2020, which has
a planning timeframe of 2000 to 2020, provides the framework for Louisville and
Jefferson County’s land development regulations and policies (including the
Land Development Code). The document describes the community’s direction for
future development and growth. It also recommends policies and projects
to achieve its desired results.
As future community leaders, youth and young people will be impacted by the updated plan that will guide our community's growth to 2040.

The premiere of Beargrass: The Creek in Your Backyard
will be Thursday, October 27 at The Clifton Center Theater
at 2117 Payne Street. Doors open at 6 p.m. and film and discussion begin
at 7:30 p.m.
Filmmaker Morgan Atkinson of Duckworks latest
documentary film focuses on Louisville’s own Beargrass Creek and the impact
that everyone living within its 61-square-mile watershed has on the waterway.
This project began as a crowd funded Kickstarter initiative:
The Beargrass Kick Starter Video, and took two
years of exploring, filming and editing to complete. Atkinson worked with the
Louisville Audubon Society, Metro Council districts eight and nine, MSD, and
other individual donors to produce a film that will encourage local
neighborhood and community association leaders to take action to protect and
restore the creek.
This is an open community event to support the restoration efforts on
our creek. There is a suggested donation of $5 at the door, and proceeds
will benefit Kentucky Waterways Alliance, Beargrass Creek Alliance, and Salt River Watershed Watch, three groups
working to restore the Beargrass. Many thanks to Councilmen Tom Owen and Bill
Hollander for not only sponsoring this event, but for their tireless
support of cleaning up our creek.
