 Join Councilman Mulvihill, your neighbors and the men and women of the LMPD 4th Division for a Peace Walk Tuesday, September 13 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Meet at Emerson Park at the corner of Hickory Street and Sylvia Street.
This is a great way for neighbors to meet, stroll, and have a conversation with 4th Division Commander Major Ryan Bates and other division leaders.
 The 86th Annual Fairdale Community Fair is a weekend of fun featuring the annual community parade, rides, music, exhibits, and food, as well as a Baby Contest, Dog Contest, and the Mr. Fairdale Contest.
The fair is at 10104 Mitchell Hill Road at the Fairdale Playtorium and Fairdale Elementary grounds. Booths and entertainment: Friday 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday noon to 11 p.m.
Among the many highlights of the event is Saturday’s Community Parade, which begins at noon. This year’s theme is “Through the Decades” to honor the history of the fair. The parade features floats, bands, local celebrities and other community groups who begin at Fairdale High School and then proceed down Fairdale Road to Fairdale Elementary.

The George Rogers Clark Park Neighborhood Association will hold
their community yard and craft sale at Zion United Church of Christ, 1310 East
Burnett Avenue, between Eastern Parkway and Clarks Lane, from 8 a.m. to 3
p.m. on September 10.

Walk to educate affected individuals and their families, while raising vital funds
in the fight against eating disorders.
The walk will be at the Bellarmine University Quad
at 2001 Newburg Road on Saturday, September 10.Check in is
at 8:30 a.m., opening ceremony at 9 a.m., and the end time is 11 a.m.
The NEDA Walk fundraising goal is $30,000. NEDA Walks are
non-competitive and approximately one mile in length. The registration fee of
$25 includes a t-shirt. Discounted rates are offered for students.

September 10, the Waterfront Botanical Gardens will host an
afternoon of sustainable fun on the site of the future gardens, on
a 23-acre site at the corner of Frankfort Avenue and River Road.
Come see, and celebrate, the transformation of neglected
green space in Butchertown into the proposed Waterfront Botanical Gardens.
Music by John Gage, food trucks, refreshments, demonstrations and kids
activities. FREE (suggested donation $10).

There will be a free document shredding event Saturday, September 10th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Teamsters Local 783 at 7711 Beulah Church Road.
This event is sponsored by the Democratic
Woman's Club - donations will be accepted for the Scholarship Fund.

Louisville Fire Department, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Metro
Corrections, EMS and all five branches of our military on stage at 4:30 p.m.
and the country music concert will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Local country entertainers Jake Dodd and Wildwood will perform, as will Alison Bray from "The Voice."
 Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation is hosting 12 public meetings
during September, October and November to receive feedback on future park
amenities including dog parks, skate parks and walking/hiking trails.
The meetings will take place once each week for 12 weeks at four
sites: the East Government Center in Middletown; Sun Valley Community Center in
southwest Louisville; the Portland Community Center in the Portland
neighborhood in west Louisville; and the Cyril Allgeier Community Center in the
Camp Taylor neighborhood just off the Watterson Expressway.
“This is our and the community’s opportunity to discuss how best
to enhance the system to best serve the growing community and disparate needs
while improving the quality of life of all residents,” Director
Seve Ghose said.
If residents can't attend a meeting, they are encouraged to send
comments about these topics and others to parks@louisvilleky.gov.

month's Youth Chat series with LMPD will take place at the Cyril Allgeier Community Center on
Thursday September 15th, to engage our young people in public discussion.
Youth 25 years of age and under can chat with local law enforcement officials
to establish better relationships and a mutual understanding on issues and
topics within the community. Learn more about what our officers do and ask them
a variety of questions about their job duties as a Louisville Metro Police Officer.
This meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Cyril Allgeier
Community Center, 4101 Cadillac Court in District 10.

 The 7th Annual Kentuckiana Crime Stoppers "Keep Your
Streets Safe" Golf Scramble will tee off Monday, September 19 at Iroquois
Golf Course. Registration begins at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
Registration deadline is September 12.
Crime Stoppers, a non-profit, is funded by private donations and
fundraising. No tax dollars are involved in Crime Stoppers operations: all
funds received are applied to the“rewards account” to pay the callers whose
information clears felony cases in the community.
Entry fee is $60 per person, $240 per team. For more golf
