LMPD Updates

CJS

This week, our Fourth Division officers have responded to numerous threats. A mentally ill person has been taken to hospital last Tuesday after seeking to take his own life in a bomb threat. Metro detectives have apprehended a robber who had held taxi drivers at knifepoint, and made arrests in connection with the shooting of four people in the 2800 block of Rodman St. Several burglaries have been comitted in our community; most have led to arrests. The homicide at 23rd and Standard on beat 5 is still unsolved, but appears to be a part of an ongoing feud.

Sadly, Thursday evening a five year old child was hit by a car in the 200 block of W. Tenny.  The child was taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital, but sadly passed away from her injuries.  There were no criminal acts associated with this accident.

Property crime in our division has increased 1.1% since last year.  For your safety, please lock your car, keep your valuables out of view, and never leave your car running and unattended.  Unfortunately, criminals will take advantage of these opportunities - you are the best person to thwart them.

Discuss Off-Site Parking on 1104 Central Ave.

An application for a permit to allow off-street parking for the parcel located at 1104 Central Ave has been submitted to Louisville Metro Planning and Design Services. This will allow continued use of the existing parking on the sites. At this meeting, adjoining property owners and neighborhood group representatives can discuss this proposal before it appears before the Louisville Metro Board of Zoning Adjustment. This will be an informal meeting, giving you the opportunity to review the proposed plan and to discuss it with the owners.

The meeting to discuss this proposal will be held on:

 Date: July 12, 2016  Time: 6:30 p.m.

Place: Larchmont Church of God 3134 Taylor Boulevard  Louisville, KY 40215

At this meeting, representatives will explain the proposal and then discuss any concerns you may have. We encourage you to attend this meeting and to share any concerns you may have about this proposal.

Should you have any questions prior to the meeting, please feel free to contact Erik Lattig at 589-5400.
