Hello! My name is Sarah Teeters, and I am the new coordinator for the Office for Aging and Disabled Citizens.
The Office for Aging & Disabled Citizens (OADC) provides leadership to and participates in community activities, advocating for rights, policies and funding that can enhance the lives and independence for seniors and disabled individuals.
I have already met so many individuals in the community working towards these common goals, and cannot wait to see what the future holds here in Louisville!
The goal of this newsletter is to give you a monthly update on happenings not only within the Louisville Metro Community Services, but also newsworthy events and announcements from our providers, coalitions and other organizations. In order for this newsletter to be successful, please help me by opening the email when you receive it and not just viewing it in a preview bar. This helps track the number of people using, reading and learning information from it. If you want to unsubscribe or add new subscribers to this newsletter, please click on link to my email below. List full name and email address to be added or removed.

In the next several weeks, we will be updating the Louisville Metro Office for Aging and Disabled Citizens website and other public information to be able to better serve the citizens and providers looking for resources. Please let me know what you would find most helpful or reasons you would refer others to our page.

TRIAD is a grassroots coalition of partnerships that brings police departments, the sheriff's office, criminal justice practitioners, senior volunteer groups and senior service providers together for the primary purpose of identifying ways to reduce the criminal victimization of seniors. The development of TRIADs began in Virginia in 1988 through the National Sheriff’s Association, and is still a big part of what the OADC focuses on today. Meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Tuesday from 11:30am-1:00pm. Please call me if you would like more information, or are interested in sponsoring a lunch.

Exiting on a high note, the Department of Community Services, including the OADC is Moving! Our new location will be on the 2nd floor of the Edison Center- located at the corner of Ormsby & South 7th Street. The move is scheduled for the first full week of April, so bear with us during this transition as there will be times that phones or emails will be down. Phone numbers and other contacts should all remain the same.
