 Do You Know a Student Interested in Serving as
a Metro Council Page?
Each year Metro Council members are assigned two Metro Council
meetings to provide a student page from their district the opportunity to
observe how a governing body works while participating in the process.
If you know a student who lives in District 13 or attends school
in District 13 and would be interested in serving this year, contact our office

Fairdale Business Association &
Shack In The Back

Are hosting
a fundraiser for the Fairdale High School Fire, Science, and EMS team. Even
though the event is from 4pm-8pm they will still credit Fairdale High School
for any orders from Fairdale businesses throughout the day up until 4pm. Just
be sure to mention that you are there to support the Fire, Science & EMS
team.

 Louisville Zoo Needs
Seasonal Workers
The Louisville Zoo is looking for seasonal workers and will host a
job fair on Jan. 30.
The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Zoo's
Gheens Room and will showcase what positions will be open and offer you
chances to apply.
The Zoo needs people for seasonal positions in Admissions,
Education, Guest Services, Membership and Rides and Attractions.
Applicants should be outgoing, highly motivated individuals who enjoy
working with the public and will provide outstanding customer service.

Tuesday Feb. 2 Job Fair
 Pet License Fee
Increase
Effective February 1, licensing
your pets with LMAS will be a little more expensive.
A one year license for an altered dog or cat will be $10; a three
year license will be $27.
The biggest increase will
be for unaltered pets which will increase to $60 a year. For further

The
Valley Woman's Club Annual All You Can Eat Soup Supper
Friday, February
5, 2016
from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Sun Valley Community Center on Bethany
Lane. We will also have a White Elephant and Bake Sale. Menu:
All you can eat of a variety of soups, cornbread/crackers, assorted desserts,
coffee or tea. Tickets are $6.00 for Adults and $4.00 for kids 6 and
under. The proceeds from the supper will benefit our Scholarship Fund

Yard Waste Collection
to Resume Monday February 1
–Yard waste
collection will resume in the urban services district of Louisville Metro (the
former City of Louisville boundaries) on Monday February 1. It had been
suspended for two weeks due to snow removal and recovery operations

Income Tax Assistance
It is a free program staffed by volunteers
who help low income families receive all the tax refunds they are qualified for
and its success has returned millions to the local economy in Metro Louisville. The program is funded in part by several members of the Metro Council.
- Available to persons making $55,000 or less.

RiverLink Tolling System
Tolling
isn’t expected to begin until late this year, but now is the time for residents
to learn more about RiverLink. RiverLink is the new, all-electronic tolling
system making the Louisville – Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project
possible.
RiverLink
open house events are planned for most Tuesdays and Thursdays in February and
March. All open houses are scheduled for 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
The
new Abraham Lincoln Bridge, the improved Kennedy Bridge and the new East End
bridge will be tolled. Initial toll rates range from $1 to $12, depending on
the size of the vehicle, whether a transponder is used and how often a driver
crosses a tolled bridge.
