Early this morning, a large water main broke on Grinstead Drive, just west of Stilz.
This afternoon, Louisville Water Company (LWC) crews prepared the site of the 60-inch water main break for repairs. LWC has drained water from the pipe and is working with other utilities to secure their infrastructure that's near the area.
This pipe is 60-inches in diameter and it's made of pre-stressed concrete. It was installed in 1987. The repair will take several days and both directions of Grinstead Drive will be closed through the weekend from I-64 to Stiltz.
A boil water advisory continues for 33,000 Louisville Water customers until tests confirm water quality. The advisory area includes nearly all of District 9 - and beyond. More information, including a map and list of impacted streets, is available online: http://www.louisvillewater.com/newsroom/update-60-inch-main-break-repair-work-grinstead-drive.

That advisory could be lifted Friday morning.
All water service has been restored but there may be pockets of low pressure.
Follow local media for an announcement when the advisory is lifted.
Thank you for your patience.
