FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 6, 2023) — The 37th annual Kentucky Archives Institute is scheduled for Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, 300 Coffee Tree Road, Frankfort, Kentucky. The event is open to the public, but it is limited to 50 people and requires pre-paid registration to participate.
Featured speakers include Hillary Delaney of the Boone County Public Library, Daniele Celano of the Kentucky Historical Society, and Sharyn Mitchell and Jerry Bedford, Jr. of the African American Genealogy Group of Kentucky. This year’s theme is African-American genealogy.
A $50 registration fee includes admission, lunch and all materials. The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. EDT and seating is limited to 50. The registration deadline is Friday, July 7, 2023. The registration fee should be sent to: Friends of Kentucky Public Archives, Inc., Kentucky Archives Institute, P.O. Box 4224, Frankfort, KY 40604.
The Institute provides information for scholars, archivists, librarians, general researchers and genealogists interested in archival research. Sponsors of the event are the Friends of Kentucky Public Archives, Inc., and the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, Archives and Records Management Division.
