As of day 18 of operation, Kentucky’s online health insurance marketplace, kynect, has enrolled more than 15,000 individuals in new health insurance plans. Individuals who sign up for health insurance by Dec. 15 will start coverage on January 1, 2014. And more than 350 small businesses have started applications for health insurance for their employees. Gov. Beshear presents funding for Riverside Road project

Governor Steve Beshear joined local officials today to present a $435,000 ceremonial check to the Muhlenberg County Fiscal Court for improvements along Riverside Road near the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Paradise Fossil Plant in Drakesboro. Read story.

Gov. Beshear Calls Special Election to Fill Vacant House, Senate Seats
MONDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2013
Governor Steve Beshear today set a special election date to fill vacant legislative seats in the 7th House District and the 13th Senate District. The 7th District is vacant due to the resignation of Rep. John Arnold and the 13th District vacancy is a result of Sen. Kathy Stein’s circuit judge appointment, made earlier Monday. Read story.
