2026-2027 KYOTE Assessment Update
The following information was provided by the Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) to clarify the implementation of the Kentucky Online Testing (KYOTE) assessment:
CPE, through collaboration with the University of Kentucky (UK), has confirmed that the KYOTE math and reading assessments are available for use during the 2026-2027 school year.
Resources to support mathematics instruction and preparation remain available. The Transition to College Mathematics textbook, which aligns with the standards assessed on the KYOTE math exams, can be accessed on the Northern Kentucky University (NKU) KYOTE webpage. In addition, online resources previously available on the iMath platform have been transitioned to MyOpenMath. Schools may email mathstat@nku.edu for access instructions.
Please note that the KYOTE Writing Exam has been discontinued after the grant funding that supported its administration through NKU expired. The math and reading assessments remain operational and available.
Professor Ken Kubota, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at UK, continues to monitor the administration of the KYOTE system for math and reading assessments. Questions and support requests may be submitted through the Help Request form available at https://www.kyote.org.
