Meet Our New Partners in Educator Preparation and Licensure
The work of supporting strong literacy instruction extends beyond the Office of Teaching and Learning. We are pleased to introduce two new colleagues from the Office of Educator Licensure and Effectiveness and Educator Preparation and Certification whose work intersects with and supports our efforts to strengthen literacy and numeracy instruction across Kentucky. Get to know Dr. Brittany Worthen and Amanda Lee, and learn more about the roles they play in supporting Kentucky educators.
Dr. Brittany Worthen, Literacy Program Manager
With nearly two decades in education, I’ve had the privilege of serving students, educators and future teachers in a variety of roles. I began my career as an elementary teacher and reading interventionist before moving into higher education at Asbury University, where I spent 10 years preparing and mentoring the next generation of educators. Today, I’m passionate about advancing literacy across Kentucky and supporting educators and educator preparation programs in meaningful, practical ways. My work focuses on strengthening literacy instruction, building connections across the field, and bringing together people, ideas and resources to better prepare teachers and support student success.

Amanda Lee, Numeracy Program Manager
I’m honored to step into the role of Kentucky’s Numeracy Manager for Educator Preparation Programs and to support the preparation of future educators across the Commonwealth. With 15 years in education, my experience includes a decade in the classroom as well as four years with the Mathematics Achievement Fund through the Kentucky Center for Mathematics, where I had the opportunity to serve educators as both a coach and mentor. I’m passionate about building relationships, learning alongside others, and supporting educators through collaboration and coaching. I look forward to partnering with EPP faculty and colleagues across Kentucky to strengthen mathematics preparation and help ensure our future teachers are equipped for success.
