Question of the Week
Q: What assessment training resources are available for the 2026-2027 school year?
A: The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) has released training resources to support District Assessment Coordinators (DACs), Building Assessment Coordinators (BACs) and others involved in the administration of Kentucky state assessments for the 2026-2027 school year. These resources are designed to provide information on assessment administration requirements, state testing programs and assessment literacy concepts to help ensure a successful school year.
Back-to-School Trainings
K Screen PowerPoint
WIDA ACCESS/WIDA Alternate ACCESS Modules 1-5
Test Security PowerPoint
Assessment Literacy Training Series
OAA is also launching a new Assessment Literacy Training Series available through the KY Learning Hub. This collection of microlearning modules offers concise, targeted learning opportunities that build understanding of Kentucky's state assessments, assessment processes and the use of assessment information to support student learning.
Where to Access Trainings
The Back-to-School Trainings can be accessed on the KDE Meetings and Trainings webpage. In addition, training videos may be viewed on the KDE Media Portal. The Assessment Literacy Training Series is available through the KY Learning Hub. Users will be prompted to log in to the KY Learning Hub using their district email and password.
DACs, BACs and others involved in state assessments are encouraged to review these resources to strengthen understanding of Kentucky's assessment system and ensure readiness for the 2026-2027 school year.
For questions about training resources, please email dacinfo@education.ky.gov.
DAC Binder Pre-Orders for AKSA Window 1
DACs who wish to receive a DAC Binder, which includes a district copy of the Attainment Tasks (ATs) for the district, should pre-order by the close of business on Friday, Aug. 21. In lieu of pre-ordering a DAC Binder, DACs may choose to retain school-level binders from each grade band (elementary, middle, and high) after Window 1 for any required make-up testing. School-level binders, including Required Assessment Materials (RAMs), will continue to be shipped to schools.
As a reminder, the DAC Binders will not be automatically shipped to districts with Alternate Kentucky Summative Assessment (AKSA) testing materials.
To place a DAC Binder order for Window 1, please use the DAC Binder Pre-Order for Window 1 link.
For questions, contact Krista Mullins. For technical support with the ordering link, please contact Devon Avery.
The BRIGANCE Online Management System Is Now Live for the 2026–2027 School Year
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is pleased to announce that the Online Management System (OMS) is now live and accessible for the 2026–2027 school year. All users will access the system using a district email address, with an appendix that identifies the specific role and location:
District-Level Users: Format: first.last@district.kyschools.us_XXX (XXX represents the three-digit district code)
School-Level Users: Format: first.last@district.kyschools.us_XXXXXX (XXXXXX represents the six-digit school code)
District and school codes can be located on the Kentucky School Report Card.
To log in, use the “Forgot Password” feature on the Brigance OMS Login Screen. The user will be prompted to enter a username and email address; enter the district email address with the appendix in both boxes. The system will send an email to the user with temporary login credentials. If the message is not found quickly, check junk and spam folders.
The most recent student data upload from Infinite Campus (IC) occurred on July 26. Any information added or updated in IC after July 26 will not appear in the OMS until the next scheduled data upload on Aug. 3. Scheduled data uploads from IC to the OMS will occur weekly through the K Screen window.
