Question of the Week
Q: What is the deadline for G-Codes to be entered in IC for regular graduates?
A: G-code end status and graduation tab for regular semester graduates must be entered in Infinite Campus (IC) by tomorrow, Tuesday, June 30. Summer graduates have until Friday, July 31. This information is monitored by Rodney Bennett in the Division of District Services and used by the Office of Assessment and Accountability for Graduation Rate reporting in the School Report Card. Initial graduation rates will be generated after the July 31 deadline, followed by data quality reviews and final graduation rate calculations in early August.
For cohort-related questions in the Student Data Review and Rosters (SDRR) application, districts may use the I NEED HELP button and select Cohort. Additional questions can be directed to KDEassessment or (502) 564‑9853.
KDE Offices Closed Friday, July 3
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Offices will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of the Fourth of July.
Get Ready for 2026-2027 with WIDA Assessment Webinars
The 2026-2027 WIDA Assessment Webinar schedule is now available in the WIDA Secure Portal. Hosted by the WIDA Client Services Center team, these webinars provide an overview of various topics related to WIDA Screener and WIDA ACCESS and give district and school staff the chance to ask questions of experts at WIDA and Data Recognition Corporation (DRC).
Visit the Webinars page to view topics and add these webinars to the calendar.
Please note: WIDA Assessment Webinars do not replace the assessment training courses that are required to administer the assessments.
New for this year:
- WIDA will be saying goodbye to WebEx and switching the meeting platform to Zoom for all assessment webinars. Webinar recordings will still be hosted through Vimeo.
- Join WIDA in Spring 2027 for a new webinar on WIDA Alternate ACCESS Scores and Reports. This webinar will discuss the different types of scores on the WIDA Alternate ACCESS test, student growth, how WIDA Alternate ACCESS scores should be reviewed and used and common questions about scores and reporting.
For questions, please contact Chris Williams.
Assessment Scores in IC
KDE strives to publish student assessment results in IC as scores become available. KDE will publish the following scores beginning on Monday, June 29:
- 2025-2026 National SAT scores from June 2026
Student scores are matched to the extent possible, but not all students can be matched.
Please email KDE data services inbox with any questions or missing scores.
Reminder: Tell WIDA About Students Who Are Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Blind/Low Vision
The Accessible Pathways project at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is conducting a research study and invites educators who currently teach a multilingual student who is deaf/hard of hearing or blind/has low vision to participate.
Participation involves completing an online survey in which educators reflect on a real student. The survey asks about general characteristics of a multilingual student, including how the student communicates, uses language and accesses instruction. No identifying information about educators, students, schools or districts is collected, and study results will be reported only in aggregate. The survey is estimated to take 20-30 minutes to reflect on one student.
Please complete the survey and share the invitation with colleagues who may also be eligible. The survey deadline has been extended and will close on Friday, July 3, at 11:59 p.m. CT.
Contact WIDA Accessible Pathways with any questions.
Reminder: K Screen Staff File Updates Due July 7
The K Screen Staff File Editor is the web tool used by districts to submit staff access information for the BRIGANCE Online Management System (OMS). This web-based application enables districts to identify individuals who require Administrator or Data Entry access to support the annual K-Screen implementation. OAA uses submitted data to establish user accounts prior to the screening window, ensuring efficient and secure access.
All updates must be submitted by Tuesday, July 7, at the close of business. Meeting this deadline is essential for inclusion in KDE’s automatic user account setup for BRIGANCE OMS. As stated in the K Screen Implementation Guide, any staff not submitted by the deadline must be manually added by the DAC after the statewide setup is finalized.
Please note: Kindergarten teachers should not be entered in the Staff File. Teacher accounts are created automatically through Infinite Campus. To ensure successful creation, primary homerooms must be scheduled, and at least one new kindergarten student must be enrolled in each homeroom.
