New High School Feedback Reports Available for Review
The Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYSTATS) is providing High School Feedback Reports (HSFR) for the graduating class of 2024 for district review. The review window is through Tuesday, June 30, with the public release planned for early July.
This year, districts are asked to review the report on college going and success for the high school graduating class of 2024. The report compares student outcomes including in-state college-going rates, types of schools attended, how students performed in their first year at in-state public colleges and universities and financial aid received by students.
Access to these reports is through a KYSTATS weblink provided below. DACs are being provided the URL and password to access the reports and are asked to download these reports and share with principals and superintendents for review.
These reports should be considered DRAFT; all district reports are currently viewable through the link, but reports may change if data issues are found. These draft reports are for internal review only and should not be shared until public release.
If you have questions, please contact Barrett Ross at KYSTATS.

New WIDA Research Report Shows Early Signs of EL Recovery
A new report analyzing WIDA ACCESS Online scores from 2018-2025 offers cautiously hopeful news. For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, average English language proficiency among English Learners (ELs) has ticked upward. Authored by WIDA researchers Glenn Alan Poole and Narék Sahakyan, the report highlights that while recovery remains uneven and incomplete, declines have stabilized and long-term growth is approaching pre-pandemic levels. Read the article to understand the findings from the research.

Apply to Review WIDA ACCESS Test Items as a Standards Expert
WIDA and the test development partners at the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) are looking for educators to serve as Standards Experts for new WIDA ACCESS test items in August-September 2026. This is a chance for educators to be a part of the test development process.
Selected participants will watch a tutorial video on how to review draft test items. Then, participants will review sets of test items and enter feedback into an online form. This virtual opportunity can be completed asynchronously. Any educator who has experience working with students in grades 1-12 in Kentucky during the previous two years is invited to apply.
Find more information and an application on the CAL recruitment page. Apply by Wednesday, July 1 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Reminder: K Screen Staff File Updates Due July 7
Districts must submit all K Screen Staff File updates by Tuesday, July 7, at the close of business to ensure staff accounts are included in KDE's automatic setup for the BRIGANCE Online Management System (OMS).
Using the K Screen Staff File Editor App, districts should review and update staff who need Administrator or Data Entry access, add new users as needed, and remove staff who no longer require access. Once updates are complete, select Submit Changes to finalize the submission.
Teacher accounts are created automatically through Infinite Campus when primary homerooms are scheduled and at least one new kindergarten student is enrolled. Staff not submitted by the July 7 deadline will need to be added manually after the statewide setup process is complete.
