Commissioner’s Student Advisory Council KBE Application Review Special Committee to meet virtually April 20

(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Commissioner’s Student Advisory Council Kentucky Board of Education (KBE) Application Review Special Committee is scheduled to meet virtually April 20 at 5 p.m. ET.

The purpose of the Commissioner’s Student Advisory Council is to advise Kentucky's commissioner of education and the Kentucky Department of Education's (KDE's) leadership team on issues relevant to high school students. The group meets both in person and virtually to provide feedback on critical issues impacting students and schools and work with KDE staff to develop ideas to improve and transform education.

The special committee’s purpose is to review applications for the 2026-2027 non-voting student member of the Kentucky Board of Education and recommend three candidates to the KBE.

The meeting will be held via video teleconference. The public may view it on the KDE Media Portal.
