(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky Department of Education's (KDE's) Certification Structure Workgroup will hold a meeting on April 13 at 4:15 p.m. ET for possible recommendations to the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB).
The EPSB approved the creation of the workgroup in October 2024 to analyze and suggest potential areas of reform within Kentucky’s teacher certification structure. The group's members include legislators, educators, school and district administrators, human resource directors and educator preparation providers.
The EPSB, in full collaboration and cooperation with its education partners, promotes high levels of student achievement by establishing and enforcing rigorous professional standards for preparation, certification and responsible and ethical behavior of all professional educators in Kentucky.
The goal of this meeting is for members to vote on proposed certification recommendations for the EPSB to consider at its regular meeting on April 21.
This meeting will be held via video teleconference. Members of the public may view the meeting on the KDE Media Portal.
