Reading and Writing Interdisciplinary Literacy Practices (ILPs) in Action added to the KY Learning Hub
The Interdisciplinary Literacy Practices (ILPs), embedded within the Kentucky Academic Standards for Reading and Writing, offer tools to create literacy-rich environments that empower students to think critically and engage deeply with text. Educators can now explore the ILPs in Action video series, along with a module and participant guide, at their own pace through the KY Learning Hub.
Mathematics Professional Learning
The Cultivating Vibrant Learning Experiences in Mathematics professional learning series seeks to deepen content knowledge and pedagogy, clarifying what to teach and how best to teach it through the use of high-quality instructional resources. Series One on Effective Mathematics Teaching Practice 1: Establish mathematics goals to focus learning is available on the Cultivating Vibrant Learning Experiences in Mathematics page on KYStandards.org. Meeting materials, recordings and a Facilitator’s Guide are available for instructional leaders to provide local opportunities to deepen educators’ knowledge of the KAS for Mathematics and the instructional shifts that support them.
Science Kentucky Atlas of Phenomena
The Kentucky Atlas of Phenomena (KAP) now includes 40 new phenomenon bundles, expanding this educator-created resource designed to bring science to life through locally relevant phenomena. Each phenomenon connects directly to the Kentucky Academic Standards for Science, offering clear pathways to explore and apply disciplinary core ideas using real-world Kentucky contexts.
Social Studies Professional Learning
The Kentucky Academic Standards for Social Studies go beyond memorization by challenging students to think critically, ask meaningful questions and apply their learning to real-world issues. The Performance Assessments in Social Studies professional learning module series helps teachers design authentic, engaging tasks that reflect the work of civic leaders, economists, geographers and historians.
Visual and Performing Arts Student Assignment Library
The Visual and Performing Arts Student Assignment Library contains a new interactive resource to support high-quality instruction in dance, media arts, music, theatre and visual arts aligned to the Kentucky Academic Standards for Visual and Performing Arts. Created by Kentucky teachers and arts-discipline experts, these tools help you design vibrant, standards-aligned learning experiences that bring creativity and rigor to your classroom.
