Question of the Week
Q: When is the next SAT Junior State Administration Office Hour?
A: The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) and College Board will host an office hour on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. ET to assist schools with any issues submitting requests for testing accommodations and English Learner (EL) supports to the state administration. The office hour will be hosted via a Microsoft Teams meeting. While the content reviewed will focus on testing accommodations and EL supports, OAA and College Board encourage testing staff to join and ask questions at this time. Please share the meeting link with relevant testing staff. Attendees will not have to register for office hours, and office hours will not be recorded.

WIDA ACCESS Braille and the New Speaking Domain
Starting in 2025-2026, students who use the braille accommodation on WIDA ACCESS will be able to participate in the Speaking domain. Historically, the Braille test did not include the Speaking domain due to its reliance on visual cues and prompts.
Read the article Understanding WIDA ACCESS Braille and the New Speaking Domain for more about the process to make the braille test more equitable and learn what test administrators need to know for 2025-2026.

GMAP Assurances for House Bill 6 2024
The 2024-2025 assessment and accountability data were publicly released on Nov. 19. Within the data files provided to District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) is a spreadsheet that includes percentages of accountable students performing at the Proficient and Distinguished levels in reading and mathematics. This data should be used to update student performance information required on each district and school website, as required by House Bill 6 (2024). See House Bill 6 (2024) Requirement to Report Academic Performance on Websites for more information.
As a reminder, the data should be displayed for each level (elementary, middle, high) of the school or district, as provided in the spreadsheet, not averaged or otherwise calculated.
Districts should update websites with the 2024-2025 student performance data by Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Any subsequent data files provided (e.g., post-10-day regulatory period) will require another website update within 14 days if there are changes to a district’s proficient and distinguished percentages in reading and mathematics.
Superintendents must assure that the required data has been posted on the district and school websites through the Grant Management Application and Planning System (GMAP) no later than Dec. 15.
The assurances are in GMAP under Application Supplements, Fiscal 2025: House Bill 6: 2025 District Website Requirements Assurances.
To access the assurances, the superintendent (not a designee) must change Status to Started. Access the assurance by selecting it in the Description section. After completing the assurance, change Status to Approved to submit.
For GMAP guidance on submitting assurances, please contact Lindsay McCollum via the KDE GMAP email inbox.
KDE Offices Closed
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) offices will be closed on Nov. 27-28, in observance of Thanksgiving.
