Question of the Week
Q: How should District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) prepare for the 2025 Public Release of Accountability Data?
A: To assist districts with public reporting, the Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) has developed 2025 public release resources. The resources, housed on the Accountability and Data Release Resources webpage, offer guidance to DACs and district leaders on how to communicate school and district performance.
Resources:
Please Note: OAA recommends using Chrome to open and edit these resources. There is a known issue with Microsoft Edge, which may interfere with access.

House Bill 6 Website Requirement
The 2024-2025 assessment and accountability data is tentatively scheduled for public release on Nov. 19. Within the data files provided to District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) will be a spreadsheet that includes percentages of accountable students performing at the Proficient and Distinguished levels in reading and mathematics. This data should be used to update student performance information required on each district and school website, as required by House Bill 6 (2024). See House Bill 6 (2024) Requirement to Report Academic Performance on Websites for more information.
As a reminder, the data should be displayed for each level (elementary, middle, high) of the school or district, as provided in the spreadsheet, not averaged or otherwise calculated.
Districts should update websites with the 2024-2025 student performance data by Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Any subsequent data files provided (e.g., post-10-day regulatory period) will require another website update within 14 days if there are changes to a district’s proficient and distinguished percentages in reading and mathematics.
Superintendents must ensure that the required data has been posted on the district and school websites through the Grant Management Application and Planning System (GMAP). More information will be provided in an upcoming Monday DAC Email and Commissioner's Weekly Message.

New Resource: WIDA ACCESS Online Test Administrator Scripts in ASL
Translations of the WIDA ACCESS Online Test Administrator Script for Grades 1-3 (Listening, Reading and Speaking only) and the WIDA ACCESS Online Test Administrator Script for Grades 4-12 are now available as videos in American Sign Language (ASL) in the WIDA Secure Portal. These chaptered videos provide the ASL translation of the directions for WIDA ACCESS Online test sessions, guiding students to log in and launch the test.
In addition to the videos, WIDA has created a PDF script for test administrators to use while students watch the video. WIDA encourages educators to review the PDF script and video translation well in advance of test day to ensure a smooth testing experience.

New WIDA Focus Bulletin Examines MLs with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education
Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE) is an overarching term used to describe students who may lack formal schooling experience. Knowing and understanding MLs identified as SLIFE is essential for ensuring ML success in teaching and learning context and the new communities at large. Read WIDA’s latest Focus Bulletin to learn how MLs identified as SLIFE are showing up in the classrooms and what educators can do to support MLs unique needs.
