Spring 2026 SAT Junior State Administration – Resources
To support Kentucky educators in preparing for the Spring 2026 SAT Junior State Administration, the following resources are now available:
For Students
The SAT has shorter reading passages, with only one question per passage. This allows for more efficient reading and comprehension, as students can focus on a single passage at a time, and the test can cover a wide range of topics and skills, including literature, history, science and the humanities. Passages and questions are designed to test comprehension, analysis and reasoning skills. The following resources are available:
Direct Support
- Educators may email kentuckysat@collegeboard.org or call (866) 609-2430 with questions specifically related to the Kentucky SAT Junior State Administration.
- College Board has launched a Kentucky-specific webpage with helpful information and ongoing updates regarding the SAT Junior State Administration. This page will serve as a central hub for key dates, policies and resources to assist districts and schools throughout the testing process.
DACs, BACs and other testing staff are encouraged to bookmark these resources and share them with colleagues as schools prepare for testing.

WIDA ACCESS for Kindergarten: WIDA and CAL is Seeking Observation Sites
From Dec. 2025 through Feb. 2026, staff from WIDA and the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) would like to travel to school sites to observe and audio record WIDA ACCESS for Kindergarten test administrations. These observations and recordings will take place during Kentucky's actual, scheduled WIDA ACCESS for Kindergarten test administrations. Kentucky's ACCESS testing window is Jan. 5 - Feb. 13, 2026.
WIDA needs to obtain these recordings and student performance data to support the upcoming ACCESS Standard Setting event in July 2026. Learn more about standard setting on the WIDA ACCESS in 2025-2026 page. Staff from WIDA and CAL plan to collect approximately 8 recordings per school site.
Sites that participate will receive $100 per participating student. Visit the Building a WIDA Assessment page and select “WIDA ACCESS for Kindergarten Audio Recordings and Observations” under Educator Involvement to learn more. Kentucky observations will occur between Dec. 1 - Feb. 20, 2026. Schools and districts interested in hosting observers should complete the WIDA recruitment survey by Friday, Nov. 14, at 11:59 p.m. CT.
For questions about the WIDA Kindergarten ACCESS, please contact Chris Williams.
