White Paper: Learning Acceleration in Literacy Instruction is now available to address some of the common challenges educators face when considering how to accelerate student progress toward proficiency. This white paper intends to help educators understand what is meant by learning acceleration, how it differs from remediation and how to develop an effective acceleration model.
 Building Momentum: Kentucky Reading Research Center Clearinghouse
The Kentucky Reading Research Center’s Research Clearinghouse is growing. Their most recent whitepaper, A Review of Phonics Practices or Interventions for Children in Kindergarten Through Third Grade (2014-2024) is now available in the clearinghouse. Educators interested in the findings of research conducted over the last ten plus years on how to help students develop proficient fluency in grades K-3, will consider this white paper a must read. Additionally, the center has individualized the key findings of this research into Evidence Snapshots for educators, parents and caregivers, education and civic leaders, and educator preparation providers.

NEXT TUESDAY: DEL Virtual Office Hours October 14
The next DEL Virtual Office Hours will be held on Tuesday, October 14, from 9:30 A.M. ET/8:30 A.M. CT - 11 A.M. ET/10 A.M. CT. Voices from the Field will be shared by State Literacy Coaching Specialist Brittany Jones for the first thirty minutes, featuring Intellectual Preparation through Internalization. Intellectual preparation is key to deepening the instructional impact of a high-quality instructional resource. Through the lens of internalization, participants will explore how literacy leaders can thoughtfully engage teachers with content, anticipate student thinking and align instructional moves with learning goals. The remainder of the session will focus on learning, networking and problem-solving alongside fellow educators from across the state. Flexible breakout rooms will be available for targeted discussions based on participant needs.
