Question of the Week
Q: When will released items be available for the 2025 spring administration of the KSA and AKSA?
A: Released items from the Spring 2025 administrations of the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) and the Alternate Kentucky Summative Assessment (AKSA) are now available. Items may be accessed at the links below:
As required by KRS 158.6453, assessment reports provided to the school districts and schools shall include an electronic copy of an operational subset of test items from each assessment administered to their students and the results for each of those test items by student and by school.
In compliance with statute, please find statistical information in the following locations:
- For KSA, released item data files can be accessed in PearsonAccessnext (PAN) by navigating to Spring 2025 Summative > Reports > Published Reports.
- For AKSA, data is provided on the last page of each item set.
District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) should inform superintendents and school principals that this information is available.
The KSA and AKSA data provide evidence of student learning that helps to inform decision-making related to instruction. Combined with other school-level data, these resources provide insight into student outcomes and a clearer picture of school performance.

KSA KY Portal Gets a Fresh Look for 2025-26
The Pearson KY Portal webpage has been refreshed for the 2025-26 school year, offering a cleaner, more user-friendly layout while maintaining the same content.
The updated design offers a streamlined layout, making it easier for users to navigate. All the familiar resources, links, and documents are still housed within the portal, and the webpage URL remains unchanged. Users with the KY Portal bookmarked may need to refresh the browser or clear the cache to view the latest version.
For questions or feedback about the KY Portal update, please contact Melissa Chandler or Pearson Support at (888) 437-1430.
2025 KSA and AKSA Individual Student Reports (ISRs) Scheduled for November Delivery
Pearson will prepare the Individual Student Reports (ISRs) for the 2025 KSA and AKSA Spring testing, with delivery to districts tentatively scheduled for the first week of Nov.
This later release date allows for the inclusion of science scores, providing a complete picture of performance across all tested content areas. As in previous years, districts will receive two copies of each ISR, one for school records and one to be sent home to families.
Districts can expect to receive the ISRs in early November, pending final score processing and validation. The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) will share updates if the release timeline shifts.

Kentucky Alternate Assessment Program (KAAP) IC Pull for the Student Registration Database (SRD) and Career Readiness Database (CRD)
KDE will conduct an IC data pull on Friday, Oct. 3 to populate the SRD with students identified for the Alternate Assessment. This IC pull will also provide a list of students for grades 12 and 14 working towards Career Work Experience Certification (CWEC) and the Employability Skills Assessment Record (ESAR).
To ensure accurate student records, districts must complete all updates in IC by close of business on this date. Specifically, districts should:
- Verify that all students who meet Kentucky’s Alternate Assessment Criteria are correctly marked in IC.
- Confirm that Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are locked to ensure proper population into the SRD and CRD.
For any additional questions or concerns, please contact Krista Mullins.
