Question of the Week
Q: What is the current status of the contract award to the College Board for the SAT Junior State Administration?
A: It has been four weeks since a protest was filed over the statewide assessment contract award to the College Board. Per state law, KDE paused contract work while the Finance and Administration Cabinet reviews the protest.
KDE received approval to continue spring testing planning with the College Board during the review, ensuring preparation stays on track. Once the protest is resolved, OAA will share trainings, resources, and testing dates with districts. We will continue to provide updates as the process moves forward.

Sept. 1 deadline to add pathway in TEDS for 2025-2026 school year
On Sept. 1, the Technical Education Data System (TEDS) 2024-2025 data will be locked to begin the rollover for 2025-2026. Schools must add any new pathways in TEDS, if applicable, by Sept. 1 for the pathway to be available in TEDS during the 2025-2026 school year. Students are not required to be enrolled in the new pathway by Sept. 1, but schools must add the pathway if the pathway does not already exist in TEDS for their school. Work with your TEDS Coordinator at your school to verify all applicable pathways already exist in TEDS or have been properly added by Sept. 1. Refer to the TEDS instructions Request to ADD or REMOVE a Pathway and the TEDS webpage for more details.
CTE End-of-Program (EOP) Assessment and Tech Ready Apprentices for Careers in Kentucky (TRACK) Pre-Apprenticeship Assessment test tickets will be generated using TEDS data. Schools should ensure all applicable pathways already exist in TEDS or have been added in TEDS by the September 1 deadline in preparation for 2026 spring testing. Refer to the CTE EOP Assessment webpage for more information.
Contact Claude Christian, Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), for assistance related to TEDS, and contact Sherri Craig, OCTE, for questions related to CTE EOP Assessment.
