Kentucky Math HQIR Adoption Resources
As part of Kentucky Numeracy Counts, per KRS 158.8402(5)(b), “Each superintendent shall adopt an evidence-based curriculum along with high-quality instructional resources for mathematics that is determined by the department to be reliable, valid, and aligned to Kentucky academic standards for mathematics required by KRS 158.6453 for kindergarten through grade three (3).”
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) has released an approved list of K-12 high-quality instructional resources (HQIRs) for mathematics, focusing on Tier 1 core comprehensive resources. The KDE also provides tools like the Model Curriculum Framework and Mathematics Instructional Resource Consumer Guide to support local evaluation and selection. Districts are encouraged to review materials to ensure alignment with local needs and instructional goals.

Text-Based Writing Across Disciplines
Text-Based Writing Across Disciplines offers 40 tasks for K–12 students to practice discipline-specific literacy in reading, writing, math, social studies, science, and the arts. Designed to supplement HQIRs, these tasks deepen learning and help students demonstrate content knowledge. These tasks serve to supplement instruction towards the full depth and rigor of the Kentucky Academic Standards.
