Question of the Week
Q: Is there a new vendor for the Junior State Administration of the College Admissions Exam?
A: Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, the College Board will provide the SAT for the state administration of the college admissions exam as required by KRS 158.6453. The College Board was awarded the contract through Kentucky’s official procurement process and will bring both experience and familiarity to districts across the Commonwealth.
Many districts are already familiar with the College Board through the Advanced Placement (AP) courses and exams. This existing relationship is expected to ease the transition and support a smooth implementation across Kentucky high schools.
The SAT Junior State Administration is an adaptive exam. It is a two hour and 14-minute exam that assesses students’ reading, writing, math, and science skills. The test has two sections, Reading & Writing and Math, generating a score for each section on a 200-800 scale. Through its unique design, the SAT also delivers an Analysis in Science score generated by students’ performance on relevant questions within the Reading & Writing and Math sections.
This transition will provide students with a high-quality assessment that continues to support Postsecondary Readiness. The SAT benchmark scores that determine academic readiness are established by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. More information can be found on how SAT assesses college and career readiness.
In preparation for this transition, multiple training opportunities will be offered to help educators and administrators understand the new platform and testing process.
More information will be shared during the DAC Webcast on Thursday, July 10, and the Superintendent’s Webcast on Tuesday, July 15.

Reminder: Deadline for G-Codes to be Entered into Infinite Campus (IC) for 2024-2025 School Year
The end of the school year is a very busy time, and there are many actions to take to complete the year. As a reminder, the Graduation Codes (G-Codes) are due soon. Rodney Bennett, with the Division of District Services, monitors G-code entry, and the Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) will use that data for Graduation Rate reporting this fall in the School Report Card. The deadline for the G-code end status and graduation tab to be entered in IC for regular graduates is Tuesday, June 30. The G-code end status and graduation tab must be completed in IC for all summer school graduates by Thursday, July 31. OAA will run and provide districts with initial graduation rates based on final-year G-codes as of June 30. OAA will also monitor for any data quality issues and follow-up with District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) in July and calculate final graduation rates in early August based on any changes from summer graduates.
