Registration for Fall 2025 Cognitive Coaching Cohort
The P3 Team is excited to announce that 20 school leaders will be selected to attend Cognitive Coaching training on FULL SCHOLARSHIPS during the fall of the 2025-2026 school year. Scholarship recipients will be selected through a competitive application process.
Cognitive Coaching is an eight-day, game-changing professional learning opportunity for school leaders.
Additional Important Information:
Scholarship recipients must commit to attending all eight days of the training with a signed superintendent approval.
Training Dates:
- Days 1 and 2: Sept. 5 and 8
- Days 3 and 4: Sept. 18-19
- Days 5 and 6: Oct. 23-24
- Days 7 and 8: Dec. 11-12
All eight days of training will be held at the Kentucky Department of Education, 300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort.
Legislative Updates of Interest
SB 181, Traceable Communication
- Does not restrict electronic communication between a student and family member who is a school district employee or volunteer.
- “Family member” means a parent, brother, sister, son, daughter, aunt, uncle or grandparent;
- “Parent” means a parent, legal guardian, or other person or agency responsible for a student;

A parent may submit written consent to authorize a designated school district employee or volunteer who is not a family member to communicate electronically with his or her child outside of the traceable communication system.

Notification to parents

Handling complaints of unauthorized electronic communication

Notify the parent of each student.

If the individual is a certified employee, notify the Education Professional Standards Board, investigate allegations and proceed with appropriate disciplinary action.

If the individual is classified, investigate and proceed with appropriate disciplinary action.

If the individual is a volunteer, investigate and if substantiated, prohibit from future volunteer activities.
HB 48, Certified Evaluation

KRS 156.557 The system shall require annual summative evaluations for each teacher or other professional who has not attained continuing service status under KRS 161.740 or continuing status under KRS 156.800(7). The system shall require summative evaluations [at least] once every five (5) [three (3)] years for a teacher or other professional who has attained continuing service status under KRS 161.740 or continuing status under KRS 156.800(7), principals, assistant principals, and other certified administrators.

Additional summative evaluations may be performed at the discretion of the immediate supervisor of a teacher or other professional based upon a case-by-case analysis of the performance criteria set forth in subsection (4) of this section but shall not be imposed as a uniform requirement across the system.
- Convene the district 50/50 Committee to discuss revisions to the CEP:
- Discuss any needed changes to sources of evidence
- Discuss frequency or timelines for sources of evidence
- Discuss requirements for formative years
- Discuss any impact or revisions to decision rules
- Discuss other changes that impact practice and policy
