Question of the Week
Q: If a student completes both Window 1 and Window 2 of the Alternate Kentucky Summative Assessment (AKSA) during the second testing window, does the district need to submit a Window 1 makeup request form?
A: Yes. Districts need to submit a request for each student who needs to makeup Window 1 using the Spring 2025 Window 1 Makeup Request During Window 2 form. Please allow 1 to 2 business days for the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) to review and approve the request. Districts may not administer Window 1 until after the request has been approved by the KDE. An approval email will be sent to districts once the request has been processed.
For questions, please contact Krista Mullins.
AKSA Window 2 Opens April 14
Administration of Window 2 for the AKSA begins on Monday, April 14, and runs through Friday, May 23. The Student Registration Database (SRD) will open for score entry for the second window on Monday, April 14, and close on Friday, May 30.
For questions, please contact Krista Mullins.
SRD and Career Readiness Database (CRD) Deletion Requests
Districts needing to delete students from the SRD or the CRD will need to complete the SRD/CRD Student Deletion Request 2025 form. Please allow 1 to 2 business days for KDE to review the request. A follow-up email will be sent to districts after the request has been processed.
For questions about the SRD please email Krista Mullins.
Please email Sherri Craig in the Office of Career and Technical Education for questions regarding the CRD.
ACT Spring 2025 Junior State Administration: Return Accommodations and Supports Paper Testing Materials – Test Window #2
Schools who administered accommodations and supports paper testing within test window 2, will have a material pickup attempted today, Monday, April 7. Testing staff is encouraged to review the resources and training tutorials posted within Step 6 of the ACT-hosted website to ensure the appropriate material is returned to ACT for processing.
Finally, testing staff should be aware that the receipt deadline for test window 2 accommodations and supports paper materials to have been delivered to ACT is Friday, April 11.
For questions and assistance, please contact Christen Roseberry.
ACT Spring 2025 Junior State Administration – State Use Question Deadline
With the ACT spring administration now complete, KDE and ACT want to ensure testing staff are aware of and are in compliance with the KDE Parental Consent Policy. This policy requires school staff to answer a state use question in the ACT PearsonAccessnext (PAN) for examinees under the age of 18 who did not obtain parental consent to opt into the Educational Opportunity Service (EOS) system and/or select score recipients during the non-test activity.
Testing staff is encouraged to review the information outlined within the Administration Supplement to gather instructions for answering the state use question. This task must be completed by Friday, April 25.
For questions and assistance, please contact Christen Roseberry.
ACT Spring 2025 Junior State Administration – Guidelines to Securely Destroy Online Testing Materials
Testing staff should refer to the Test Administration Manual for Online Testing under the section titled “Collecting and Securely Destroying Materials after Testing” for information on how to arrange to securely destroy online testing materials.
Please note: The Seating Diagram, after being uploaded into PAN, should be retained for five years based on KDE’s recommendation.
For questions and assistance, please contact Christen Roseberry.
