ICYMI: Getting to Know the Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS) for Visual and Performing Arts 3-Part Module Available Now
This module is designed to build knowledge and capacity around the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) standards and to capitalize on the opportunity to improve teaching and learning aligned to the KAS for Visual and Performing Arts. Module facilitators may include district leaders, school administrators, instructional specialists/coaches, department chairs, teacher leaders, and/or pre-service teaching faculty. Participants can use facilitator notes available within the notes section of the PowerPoint and the note catcher document throughout the module to capture reflections and to complete prompts for deeper exploration of components.

ICYMI: Applications sought for Social Studies Standards and Assessment Review committees
Applications accepted through March 21
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is accepting applications for the Social Studies Standards and Assessment Review Committee (RC) and Advisory Panels (AP).
KRS 158.6453 calls for KDE to implement a process for reviewing all academic standards and aligned assessments beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. The review process for the Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS) for Social Studies will begin in April.

The Kentucky Department of Education Division of Early Literacy announces the opportunity for vendors to participate in the upcoming KY Reads to Succeed Conference, scheduled to take place on June 13, 2025, at The Galt House in Louisville, Kentucky. For this event focused on promoting literacy and educational excellence, we are seeking vendors whose products and services align with our mission to improve reading outcomes throughout our state.
The KY Reads to Succeed Conference provides a platform for vendors to showcase their offerings to a diverse audience of educators and administrators. This is an opportunity to connect with education professionals, demonstrate the value of your products/services and contribute to the advancement of literacy initiatives in Kentucky.
