Kentucky Numeracy Counts K-3 HQIR Grant
The Kentucky Department of Education's (KDE’s) Office of Teaching and Learning has issued a request for application (RFA) for the Kentucky Numeracy Counts K-3 HQIR grant.
Kentucky public school districts, along with the Kentucky School for the Blind and Kentucky School for the Deaf, are eligible to apply. Districts that have been previously awarded other KDE high-quality instructional resource (HQIR) grants for mathematics may apply for funds.

PAEMST APPLICATIONS FOR GRADES 7-12 NOW OPEN!
Recognize a great grade 7-12 computer science, math, science, or engineering teacher by nominating them for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching!
The Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) is the top honor for computer science, math, science, and engineering teachers in the nation. National awardees receive $10,000 and a trip to Washington, D.C.
Anyone can nominate a 7-12th grade teacher at paemst.gov; you only need the person's name, school, and email address to nominate them (it takes about 5 minutes). Or, if you are a 7-12th grade computer science, math, science, or engineering teacher who has been teaching for at least 5 years, you can start your application right now at paemst.gov.
Completed applications are due February 6, 2025!

Developing Skilled Middle and High School Readers Webinar Series Session 5 Materials and Recording Available Now
 Kentucky’s literacy initiatives are expanding with a webinar series aimed at grades 6-12 educators. Sessions provide practical strategies based on structured literacy principles to enhance reading and writing instruction. Materials from each monthly session, including recordings and guides, will be available. Learn more about the series and access the materials.

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Teaching and Learning developed the Curriculum-Based Professional Learning Guidance Document to support districts in effective implementation of a strong local curriculum anchored in high-quality instructional resources (HQIRs). The guidance document includes multiple tools to help ensure maximum impact of the district-adopted HQIRs on the student experience and outcomes.
