Question of the Week
Q: Will there be a data review process for K Screen for the 2024-2025 school year?
A: Yes, an optional data review for K Screen Prior Settings information will be held from Monday, Jan. 6, through Friday, Jan. 17, ending at the close of business. Reviewing prior settings data provides another opportunity for the most up-to-date and accurate information to be reported. To complete this process, review the district data located in the Student Data Detail in the KDE Secure Web Application. ZIP files will be named as follows: SD25[_###_K Screen_District Name_2024####].
Corrections can be made in Infinite Campus (IC) using the guidance provided in Appendix J of the K Screen Implementation Guide. The 2024–2025 K Screen results will be reported in the fall 2024–2025 School Report Card.
Participation in this data review is optional. This data review does not include Brigance Data and only covers the Prior Settings portion of the K Screen administration process.

ACT Spring 2025 Junior State Administration – Student Data Upload – Tentative
Testing staff should be aware that the Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) plans to have student data uploaded to PearsonAccessnext (PAN) so that the verified enrollment task can start on Tuesday, Jan. 14 (Tentative). The date of Jan. 14 is tentative due to the pending signature from ACT on the Data Sharing Agreement, which is required by law. Therefore, on that date, schools and districts can tentatively begin verifying that the list of students enrolled is accurate in PAN. The verify enrollment task will need to be completed by Jan. 31. This is the date ACT will use the student information in PAN to produce personalized non-test instructions for all students, no matter if they are testing online or on paper, and barcode labels for students who have been approved to test on paper.
Step 2 of the ACT-hosted testing website contains information about verifying enrollment counts and how to enroll or unenroll students if lists are inaccurate. This includes helpful resources such as the PAN User Guide and Enroll/Verify/Update Students in PAN training tutorial.
In preparation for the OAA student data pull from IC, OAA recommends that testing staff update IC with enrollment updates by Friday, Jan. 10, to ensure all student data is as up-to-date as possible.
For more information or any questions, please contact Christen Roseberry.
ACT State Testing Office Hour – Jan. 16 (Tentative)
OAA and ACT will host an office hour session on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 10:00 a.m. ET, which will focus on the Verify Enrollment and Online Site Readiness tasks. The session will be hosted via a Microsoft Teams meeting. While the content will be focused on highlighting those activities, OAA and ACT encourage testing staff to attend and ask any questions about the spring ACT state administration. Please be sure to provide testing staff with this Microsoft Teams Link for the session. Attendees will not have to register for office hours specifically but will want to mark time on calendars to avoid any scheduling conflicts.
