Question of the Week
Q: Should districts return the Alternate Kentucky Summative Assessment (AKSA) USB drives?
A: Yes. Upon completion of testing, districts should collect USB drives from all schools (high school did not receive USB drives for Window 2). USB drives from both Window 1 and Window 2 should be sent back to the University of Kentucky. District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) will complete the USB Drive Inventory Slip from the DAC envelope. DACs may also use Adobe Acrobat to open a fillable PDF of the USB Drive Inventory Slip. Mail the USB Drive Inventory Slip and the USB drives in the padded white or brown envelope containing the UPS label. These envelopes were provided with DAC materials. If districts are unable to locate the provided envelopes, USB drives and Inventory Slips should be sent to the following address:
University of Kentucky
Human Development Institute
Attn: Tina Buster
2355 Huguenard Street, Suite 100B
Lexington, KY 40503
USB Drives are considered secure testing material. All USB drives must be picked up by UPS or dropped off to UPS no later than Monday, June 10. For questions, please contact Krista Mullins.

New High School Feedback Reports Available for Review
The Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYStats) is providing High School Feedback Reports (HSFR) for the graduating class of 2022 for district review. The review window is through Friday, June 28, with the public release planned for early July.
This year, districts are asked to review the report on college going and success for the high school graduating class of 2022. The report compares: student outcomes including college-going rates, types of schools attended, how students performed in their first year at in-state public colleges and universities and financial aid received by students.
Access to these reports is through a KYStats weblink provided below. District assessment coordinators (DACs) are being provided url and password to access the reports and are asked to download these reports and share with principals and superintendents for review.
These reports should be considered DRAFT; all district reports are currently viewable through the link but reports may change if data issues are found. These draft reports are for internal review only and should not be shared until public release.

Reminder K Screen 2024-2025 Staff File Submission Deadline July 1
In order to build the Online Management System (OMS) staff file for the 2024-2025 school year, the existing staff file must be edited.
The district assessment coordinator (DAC) must access the spreadsheet from the KDE Secure Web Applications website and choose "Student Data Detail (Excel and PDF)." The staff file is included in the Excel spreadsheet: "SD25_DistrictNumber_K_Screen_Users_ (name of district)_XXXXXXXX.xlsx."
The district’s spreadsheet will be pre-populated with the information originally submitted for the 2023-2024 school year. The spreadsheet provides a list of staff with specific roles that Curriculum Associates will use to build the Brigance OMS each year. Please review and make any corrections or additions as needed. Please upload the updated staff file by Monday, July 1 to the 2024-2025 K Screen Staff File Submission Form.
DACs who are unable to access the KDE secure application site should check with their Web Application Administration Point of Contact (WAAPOC) and/or the KETS Service Desk. The KETS Service Desk can be reached at (502) 564-2002 or (866) 538-7435.
Please contact Lisa Jett with any questions concerning the Staff File or the K Screen process.
