Family, School and Community Partnerships
Family, school and community partnerships, one of the six essential elements of KyMTSS, provides the structure for families, schools and community members to work together to support and improve the learning and wellbeing of all students. These partnerships help build reciprocal relationships to engage in meaningful and culturally appropriate collaboration to support the whole child. As a part of family and community engagement, it is important to consider the varying student living and family situations. Some students live with families, caregivers, foster families or within another living situation. By incorporating data sources and stakeholder feedback, schools can create tailored programs and materials to authentically connect with families and community partners. As this school year ends and plans are made for the upcoming year, it is a great time to consider how to continuously develop and foster family, school and community partnerships.
