Q: When will the next Train the Trainers event be held for new K Screen Trainers?
A: The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) and Curriculum Associates will host an in-person session for Kindergarten Screen Coordinators called Train the Trainers from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. ET on July 11 at the Sower Building in Frankfort. This training is required for new K Screen coordinators who will need to provide the three-hour training to teachers and district staff. This training is only required for new K Screen coordinators.
Participants are asked to bring the following items to assist with the in-person training:
- Copy of the K&1 Screen III
- The manipulatives (packages of blocks and shapes)
- Children’s books with at least 3 pages of text on each page
Registration for K Screen Train the Trainers – July 11 is now available. KDE will be accepting registrations on the Google Form until 5 p.m. ET on July 8 or until the maximum capacity of 35 is reached. Attendees will receive six hours of Effective Instructional Leadership Act (EILA) credit. KDE will also be hosting a virtual Train the Trainers in August for those who cannot make it to the July event.
SDRR “Hot Topic” Office Hour Reminder
The Student Data Review and Rosters (SDRR) team in OAA will be hosting the next SDRR "Hot Topic" Office Hour tomorrow, May 14, from 1-2 p.m. ET in Microsoft Teams. All SDRR users are welcome to participate in the discussion of Digging into Demographics: Infinite Campus (IC) Values and SDRR.

Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) Office Hour
The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA), in collaboration with Pearson, will host an office hour session on Wednesday, May 15. Pearson will provide a tutorial to assist District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) and Building Assessment Coordinators (BACs) with tasks to be completed in PearsonAccessnext (PAN) including removing students from sessions that did not test, marking students complete, stopping sessions and mailing back paper materials. DACs, BACs and all test administrators can ask questions and receive assistance during this time. Questions can be submitted prior to the office hour using the KSA Office Hour Form. New District Assessment Coordinator (DAC) Seminar
New and recently hired District Assessment Coordinators and Building Assessment Coordinators are invited to attend the Kentucky Association of Assessment Coordinators’(KAAC) New DAC Seminar. It will be held on Thursday, August 1, beginning at 9:00 a.m. ET at 300 Sower Blvd in Frankfort where the Kentucky Department of Education offices are located. This workshop features an in-depth time to focus on the role of assessment and accountability in schools and districts, the logistics every DAC needs to know and time to develop an understanding of accountability in Kentucky.
The workshop will be facilitated by KAAC board members focused on making sure each new DAC has a smooth transition into this essential job. The workshop features networking time to meet other DACs and KDE staff. District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) and Building Assessment Coordinators (BACs) of any experience level are invited to attend the New DAC Seminar. LEA Webinar on 2024-2025 WIDA AMS Enhancements Reminder
Please join WIDA and Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) on Tuesday, May 21, from 1-2 p.m. CT to learn about upcoming enhancements to WIDA AMS for the 2024-2025 testing year.
- Track test and student status with the new interactive Operational Dashboard in Reporting Services.
- Organize the students and registrations more efficiently with new change assessment, regroup students, and registration import features, a new school-to-school transfer option for WIDA Screener, and be able to add a new student to multiple ACCESS domain tests using the New Student tab in Test Management.
- Take advantage of the new waiting room feature in the Test Monitoring Application to strengthen test security practices at the school.

ACT Spring 2024 Junior Administration - State Testing Satisfaction Survey Deadline Approaching
The deadline to complete the ACT State Testing Satisfaction Survey supporting the ACT Spring 2024 Junior Administration is approaching. School and district testing staff have until the close of business on Friday, May 24 to provide responses. The survey is intended to identify areas of improvement and ensure that input from testing staff is considered to help shape the testing process for future test administrations. Reminder: 2023-2024 CWEC and ESAR Reporting Deadline May 31
As a reminder, the last day to submit the 2023-2024 Career Work Experience Certification (CWEC) completion status and Employability Skills Attainment Record (ESAR) scores in the Career Ready Database (CRD) is May 31. The ESAR administration must be completed by May 24. The ESAR is administered to all Grade 12 students in an alternative high school diploma course of study working toward career readiness within the postsecondary readiness indicator of Kentucky’s accountability system. Please refer to the Working with Exceptional Students in CTE for more information related to CWEC and ESAR reporting.

EOP Assessment Scores in IC
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) strives to publish student results data in Infinite Campus (IC) as it becomes available. KDE will publish 2023-2024 OCTE End of Program (EOP) scores to districts beginning Tuesday, May 14.
