Online Text Reader Feature
The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) has been contacted by a small number of District Assessment Coordinators reporting a sporadic issue with online text reader. It appears that the issue does not impact every form of the test, or every grade.
OAA is working closely with our vendor, Pearson, to identify the size of this issue and expedite the process to get it resolved. Until more information is available and a fix is in place, all schools and districts utilizing the online text reader feature may allow either of the following options as an acceptable accommodation:
- Use of a human reader on all parts of the test until the online reader issue has been resolved.
- Continued use of the online text reader asking students to notify the proctor if the text reader seems to skip or not read highlighted text. The proctor may read any skipped text to the student.
