Question of the Week
Q: When does the Accommodations Qualified Exceptions to the Deadline Window open for the ACT Spring 2024 Junior Administration?
A: The Qualified Exceptions to the Deadline (QED) window opens today, Jan. 22. The QED is for newly diagnosed or newly enrolled students. Please be sure to review the QED form to determine if the school/district has examinee(s) who are eligible to request accommodations and/or supports during this window. The QED window is not an opportunity to submit or resubmit initial requests for accommodations and/or supports. For questions and assistance, please contact ACT at 800.553.6244, ext. 1788 or email ACTStateAccoms@act.org. Additionally, you may contact Christen Roseberry with any questions, concerns or assistance.
ACT Spring 2024 Junior Administration - Accommodations Reconsiderations Deadline
ACT will reconsider requests for accommodations authorized by ACT or English learner supports that were not initially approved. Reconsideration requests must be made prior to the deadline of Feb. 2. Please use ACT’s Test Accessibility and Accommodations System (TAA) system to submit additional documentation.
Step 3 of the ACT-hosted testing website contains helpful resources about requesting reconsiderations, including the TAA User Guide and its section titled “Reconsideration Requests.” For questions and assistance, please contact ACT at 800.553.6244, ext. 1788 or email ACT State Accommodations. Additionally, you may contact Christen Roseberry with any questions, concerns or assistance.
Reminder: ACT Spring 2024 Junior Administration - Verify Enrollment Deadline Approaching
ACT and OAA strongly encourage schools and districts to verify that the list of students enrolled are accurate in PearsonAccessnext (PAN) by Jan. 26. On that date, ACT will use the student information in PAN to produce barcode labels and personalized non-test instructions. It is important to keep accurate enrollment information in PAN as enrollment information will also influence what is printed and shipped to schools prior to testing.
Step 2 of the ACT hosted testing website contains information about verifying enrollment counts and how to enroll or unenroll students if lists are not accurate. This includes helpful resources such as the PAN User Guide and Enroll/Verify/Update Students in PAN training tutorial.
For questions and assistance, please contact Christen Roseberry.

Career and Technical Education End-of-Program (EOP) Assessment Reminder: Critical Feb. 1 Deadline
Feb. 1 is the deadline to identify students as a concentrator in their pathway(s) and verify the pathway credits in the Technical Education Database System (TEDS) for a test ticket to be generated for the 2023-2024 Career and Technical Education End-of-Program (EOP) Assessment or the Tech Ready Apprentices for Careers in Kentucky (TRACK) Pre-Apprenticeship Assessment. For more information, refer to the critical deadlines link on the CTE EOP Assessment webpage.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When reviewing TEDS data, please remember, the student status for inactive students (those not currently enrolled in a CTE course for the pathway) is determined by the student’s status at the end of the last year they were enrolled in CTE courses within the pathway. TEDS users are reminded through the TEDS Monthly Notes of the need to keep data up to date (see article, “How Clean Is Your Data” in each Monthly Memo). It is the responsibility of the school to ensure data is entered correctly. If the student is unable to take an EOP assessment due to inaccurate data entry, it is the responsibility of the data entry staff and the school. If those students are not seniors and they take a course next year (24-25), their data can be updated at that time, and they would then be eligible to take an EOP assessment in the Spring of 2025. If they are seniors, they are eligible to take an industry certification assessment.
For assistance with CTE EOP Assessment or TRACK Pre-Apprenticeship Assessment, contact KDE EOP Support at kdeeopsupport@education.ky.gov or Sherri Craig, Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), at 502-564-4286 ext. 4226 with any questions.
For assistance with TEDS data, contact Claude Christian, Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), at 502-564-4286 ext. 4207 with any questions.
