(FRANKFORT, KY) – A working group of the Visual and Performing Arts Standards Review Committee will meet in-person at 300 Sower Blvd. in Frankfort at 9 a.m. ET on Jan. 8 - 10.
KRS 158.6453 calls for the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) to implement a process for reviewing all academic standards and aligned assessments beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. The schedule calls for one or two content areas to be reviewed each year and every six years after that on a rotating basis.
The Visual and Performing Arts Dance working group includes members of the Visual and Performing Arts Standards Advisory Panels (AP) and Review Committee (RC), which are made up of K-12 teachers, members from postsecondary education, and business and community members.
The meetings will be held in-person at the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE). The public can attend these meetings live at the KDE, 300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort, KY 40601. In the event of inclement weather, the meetings may be moved to a virtual space where all members attend virtually, and the public can watch by joining the available virtual link. If such a change is made, KDE will transmit a new public notice no less than 24 hours prior to the meeting.
