Q: Are new resources on assessment and accountability available for the 2023-2024 school year?
A: Yes. The Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA) is proud to release the Back-to-School training. This set of PowerPoint presentations and videos includes an overview of Kentucky’s school accountability system, and details of upcoming assessments.

The Office of Legal Service at KDE has provided an additional video for filing testing allegations which includes the process to set up your account and to submit allegations.

The Inclusion of Special Populations Trainings Refresh
The Inclusion of Special Populations Regulation Trainings have been updated. The actual regulations have not changed; only the trainings have been refreshed. The updates include new module videos and PowerPoints. The modules break each of the trainings down into sections to be quickly loaded into a school Operating Management System. The regulation trainings are available on the Assessment Regulations Training Page.
Assessment Scores in Infinite Campus
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) strives to publish student results data in Infinite Campus (IC) as it becomes available. KDE will begin publishing OCTE Apprenticeship, OCTE Career Work Experience Certification (CWEC), OCTE Employability Skills Attainment Record (ESAR) and OCTE Industry Certification assessments to districts beginning on Tuesday, August 8th.

2023-2024 CTE EOP Assessment Coordinator Registration due Sept. 1
A list of last year’s (2022-2023) Career and Technical Education (CTE) End-of-Program (EOP) Assessment Coordinator and E-SESS administrative accounts were sent to District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) to verify the accounts for 2023-2024 renewal. Any necessary CTE EOP Assessment Coordinator assignments or E-SESS administrative account updates (e.g., revisions, additions, deletions) are requested by September 1.
- One CTE EOP Assessment Coordinator assignment/renewal is required for each secondary school offering CTE courses and planning to administer the CTE EOP Assessment or Tech Ready Apprentices for Careers in Kentucky (TRACK) Pre-Apprenticeship Assessment (e.g., Carpentry, Electrical, Welding) in 2023-2024.
- The 2023-2024 CTE EOP Assessment and TRACK Pre-Apprenticeship Assessment testing window is February 19 - March 29. Schools MUST meet CRITICAL DEADLINES for students to test.

District Assessment Coordinator/Building Assessment Coordinator Nominations (Reminder)
Does your school or district have a Building or District Assessment Coordinator who demonstrates leadership in assessment and commitment to student learning that goes above and beyond the call of duty? If you have a BAC or DAC that deserves special recognition for their daily efforts, please fill out a BAC or DAC of the Year nomination. Recipients will be announced, and awards will be presented at the 2023 Scott Trimble Workshop on Assessment.

2023 “Don’t Stop Believing” Scott Trimble Workshop on Assessment and Instruction (Reminder)
The “Don’t Stop Believing” 2023 Scott Trimble Workshop on Assessment and Instruction will be held at the Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport Expo Center from October 26-27, 2023. You can find all the information regarding the Workshop Schedule, Hotel Accommodations, and Registration information by going to www.kaac.org. Use the 2023 Scott Trimble Workshop Proposal Google Form if you would like to submit a conference presentation proposal for the upcoming conference.
The Brigance Online Management System is Live
The Brigance Online Management System (OMS) is live for the 2023-2024 school year.
Username Guidance: The username is the district email address with the district or school location ID as an appendix. If the user has a district-level role, the appendix will be underscored followed by the three-digit district code. If the user’s role is at the school level, the appendix will be underscored followed by the six-digit school code.
District level: first.last@district.kyschools.us_012
School level: first.last@district.kyschools.us_012345
If a user does not know their district and school codes, they can be found in the School Report Card.
Accessing Your Account
Users will not receive login credentials automatically. To log in, use the “Forgot Password” feature on the Brigance OMS Login Screen.
The user will be prompted to enter his or her username and email address; enter the district email address with appendix in both boxes. The system will send an email to the user with temporary login credentials. If the message is not found quickly, check junk and clutter folders.
