Systemic Issue Found During Fall Data Review – Updated Spreadsheets Available
A systemic issue was identified during the fall data review that started Aug. 2 and runs through Aug. 10 in SDRR. Detail-oriented District Assessment Coordinators found that students who had been added to rosters in the spring were not properly included in the data. The issue impacted 100-day entity (accountability), nonparticipation, English Learner accommodations, and IEP accommodations for Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA), Alternate Kentucky Summative Assessment (AKSA), and ACCESS/Alternate ACCESS.
The issue has been resolved. Spreadsheets have been updated and are now available in the Secure Web Application. Updated spreadsheets are called SD23_xxx_QC_DataReview_Fixes_2023. The error impacted 143 districts. Districts that were not impacted by the issue will not receive updated files.
Please note that the missing values from the approved spring tickets will be reflected on the spreadsheets only and will not be reflected in SDRR during the QC Data Review period.
The fall data review is one step of the quality control process before public reporting. School and district staff can verify accountability status, students who tested or need a nonparticipation, and demographic data for individual students. The quality control procedures were established and implemented to improve data in preparation for public release.
Thank you to everyone who caught the issue. Please continue the critical review through 12 noon ET Aug. 10. It is a vital part of the process.
Note: Individual student scores from the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) and Alternate Kentucky Summative Assessment (AKSA) in PAN are separate from this quality control step. Use of individual student data for planning and curricular activities should continue.
