Q: When can I register for the 2023 Scott Trimble Workshop on Assessment and Instruction?
A: The “Don’t Stop Believing” 2023 Scott Trimble Workshop on Assessment and Instruction will be held at the Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport Expo Center from October 26-27, 2023. You can find all the information regarding the Workshop Schedule, Hotel Accommodations, and Registration information by going to www.kaac.org. Use the 2023 Scott Trimble Workshop Proposal Google Form if you would like to submit a conference presentation proposal for the upcoming conference.
District Assessment Coordinator/Building Assessment Coordinator Nominations
Does your school or district have a Building or District Assessment Coordinator who demonstrates leadership in assessment and commitment to student learning that goes above and beyond the call of duty? If you have a BAC or DAC that deserves special recognition for their daily efforts, please fill out a BAC or DAC of the Year nomination. Recipients will be announced, and awards will be presented at the 2023 Scott Trimble Workshop on Assessment.

Fall 2023 ACT State Senior (Optional) Administration: PearsonAccessnext (PAN) Opening Soon!
ACT’s PAN system, which can be accessed via testadmin.act.org, opens on August 7, 2023, for the fall 2023 state senior (optional) administration. PAN is used by testing staff to select test dates, choose shipping dates and verify shipping addresses, and manage testing staff user accounts. Step 1 of the ACT-hosted State Testing Website contains comprehensive information about these tasks and includes helpful resources, such as the PAN User Guide and step-by-step training tutorials.
Please ensure testing staff involved with selecting test dates, choosing shipping dates and verifying shipping addresses, and managing testing staff user accounts are aware that PAN will open on this date. K Screen Staff File Revision Deadline Approaching
In an effort to maintain the Online Management System (OMS) for the upcoming K Screen window, the revision period for the K Screen Staff File will be ending on Friday August 4 at close of business. Any new data entry personnel or administrators that need to be added to the OMS after August 4, will need to be added manually as admins by an existing admin. The directions for adding admins into the OMS can be found in the 2023-2024 K Screen Implementation Guide. If you have a revision before the deadline of August 4, please contact Lisa Jett.
Kindergarten teachers will be added via a data transfer between Infinite Campus and the OMS, they do not need to be added as admins or data entry personnel in the OMS.

K Screen Training of Trainers for New Staff
Curriculum Associates and the Office of Assessment and Accountability will be hosting the last Train the Trainers for fall K Screen window on August 8 and August 9. This event will be in the afternoon from 4:00-6:30 p.m. ET both days to accommodate our educators who will be back in the classroom.
This training will be virtual and is required for new K Screen coordinators who will need to provide the three-hour training to teachers and district staff. This training is only required for new K Screen coordinators.
Participants may register using the K Screen Train the Trainers Virtual Training: August 8-9 Google Form . KDE will be accepting registrations on the Google Form until 5 p.m. ET on August 3rd. More information on how to access the virtual event will be provided on August 4th via email to new district trainers who have registered.
Attendees will receive 6 hours of Effective Instructional Leadership Act credit. Please contact Lisa Jett with any questions.
School Report Card – Data Review Window Opens Aug. 3
The School Report Card (SRC) Data Approval Tool will include the Overview and Education Opportunity domains data beginning, Thursday, Aug. 3. The system is already open with the School Safety domain data for district review and approval.
On Thursday, schools and districts can begin verification of the additional data, enter school collection items through the collection tool and flag data issues. The review period for the School Safety domain has been extended to Aug. 7 and the review period for the other domains ends on Sept. 29. In addition, all collection items should be entered by Sept. 29.
Schools can wait until all data is available in the Overview and Education Opportunity domains before finalizing their approvals.
The SRC timeline and resource documents are posted on the KSIS SRC Resources webpage. The SRC Annual Tasks and Data Approval Tool User Guide are also available on that page.
