Q: When is the deadline to submit a proposal to present at the 2023 Scott Trimble Workshop?
A: The Kentucky Association of Assessment Coordinators (KAAC) is currently accepting presentation proposals for the 2023 Scott Trimble Workshop. To be considered, please submit a proposal to Scott Trimble Call for Presenters by June 30. This year’s workshop, Don’t Stop Believing, will be held on October 26-27 at the Crowne Plaza in Louisville, Kentucky.
ACT Spring 2023 Junior Administration – Data and Reports Finalized
The data and reports from the spring 2023 Junior administration are finalized and can be accessed within ACT’s online reporting system, which is housed at success.act.org. School and district staff are encouraged to review the resources housed within step 7 of the ACT-hosted website to find supporting resources. School and district staff will also receive an email from ACT today, Monday, May 22, which will provide additional supporting information. Brigance K Screen Refresh Webcast Now Available
The K Screen Refresh Webcast is now available on KDE's Media Portal as well as the Common Kindergarten Entry Screener webpage. This training is an annual requirement for experienced district Train the Trainers staff. The session includes updates and changes for the 2023-2024 K Screen implementation. These updates include information on the following topics:
- Reminder of Login Appendices
- Reminder of Core Data and Social Emotional Data Submission
- New Online Management User Abilities
- New Online Management Functions
- Updated Implementation Guide
After completing the annual refresh webcast training, please complete the EILA credit form to receive an EILA certificate. Please allow two weeks for the certificate to be delivered via email. If you have questions, please contact Lisa Jett.
2022-2023 WIDA Professional Learning
Have district or school staff been meaning to try a World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) Self-Paced Workshop? Or maybe staff have started one, but didn’t get a chance to finish it? Don’t worry, because staff have until August 31, to access this year’s self-paced offerings and print the certificate of completion to the District Assessment Coordinator (DAC) for EILA credit:

2023 New DAC Informational Seminar (Reminder)
The New District Assessment Coordinator (DAC) Seminar helps set the stage for DACs. As a DAC you play a critical role in impacting student learning in the district. Join Kentucky Association for Assessment Coordinators (KAAC) for a day where the stage is set for DACs of all levels of experience. This newly designed workshop features an in-depth time to focus on the role of assessment and accountability in schools and districts, the organization every DAC needs to know and time to develop your understanding of accountability in Kentucky. The workshop will be facilitated by KAAC board members focused on making sure each new DAC has a smooth transition into this essential job. The workshop features networking time to meet other DACs and KDE staff. DACs of any experience level are invited to attend the New DAC Seminar on August 2 at 9 a.m.-3 p.m. ET at the KDE Building- 300 Sower Blvd. in Frankfort.
KSD and KSB Administrative Vacancies
There is an opening for the Director of Special Education position to serve both Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD) and Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB). The KSD is also accepting applications for the position of School Principal.
