What:
Educators Rising Kentucky will host its annual conference. This one-day immersive experience provides aspiring educators with opportunities to grow, learn and network with fellow students and state education leaders. A total of 576 students from 35 school districts from across the Commonwealth have registered to attend.
Educators Rising Kentucky is the career and technical student organization for middle and high school students interested in the field of education-related careers.
Through local chapter or individual membership, Educators Rising Kentucky students have opportunities to participate in projects that assist and recognize educator practices through local, state and national conferences, as well as performance-based competitions.
When:
The opening ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. ET on Thursday, March 2. Members of the press are advised to set up their equipment in the mezzanine area of the event venue at 8:30 a.m. ET. Floorspace will be limited to staff and students.
Competitive events will take place from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. ET. Most competitive events are closed to the public, but members of the press are invited to attend public speaking competitions within the timeframe of the competitive events.
Numerous Kentucky leaders will speak throughout the day, including:
- Kentucky Education Commissioner Jason E. Glass at 10-10:30 a.m. ET;
- Miss Kentucky Hannah Edelen at 3-3:30 p.m. ET; and
- Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman at 3:30-4 p.m. ET.
