Question of the Week
Q: Should the Quality of School Climate and Safety Survey be given to students during a practice session?
A: No. The Quality of School Climate and Safety survey is provided for information purposes only. The Kentucky Department of Education is the owner of the Quality of School Climate and Safety survey and does not consent to school districts administering the survey, in full or any part thereof, outside of the administration of the Kentucky Summative Assessments.
The Quality of School Climate and Safety indicator is one of the state indicators in Kentucky's accountability system. The indicator uses perception data from surveys that measure insight into the school environment. The Quality of School Climate and Safety Survey is given as part of a state-required assessment. The Kentucky Department of Education provides the Quality of School Climate and Safety survey to school districts for information purposes only. Administration of any part of the Quality of School Climate and Safety Survey outside of the state-required assessment may be considered a violation of 703 KAR 5:080.
